Launch of Arogya Sparsha
The \xe2\x80\x9cArogya Sparsha\xe2\x80\x9d \xe2\x80\x93 A new program by Health Department to PwDs was launched on 07.09.2021 at Udupi District.
On 29th July 2021, DNA along with its member organizations and Partner organizations ( Sakshama & Divyanga Rakshana Vedike Udupi) presented the scenario of disability issues of Udupi District to CEO of Zilla Panchayath, DDWO, DHO, DD Women & Child Welfare, DD Social Welfare, DyPC of Education Department and requested them to take actions to improve the quality of life of PwDs at Udupi District. As a result, with the view of Health aspects, CEO of ZP & DHO were decided to launch new program to PwDs by using 108 Ambulance for the health issues related to PwDs. They assured, this program will take care of the periodical (Once in a month) health check-up of PwDs by Government Health Professionals in their door step. If there is any severe health issues, they are going to admit the case in District Hospital for further treatment. To reach out PwDs of unreached and remote areas they are using \xe2\x80\x9c108 Ambulance\xe2\x80\x9d. For this program they are going to use 17 Ambulance throughout Udupi District.
This is the program first time launched in Karnataka and not been seen in other districts of Karnataka. This is the advocacy effort of DNA with Health Department and Zilla Panchayath of Udupi to launch a New Program called \xe2\x80\x9cArogya Sparsha\xe2\x80\x9d. This program was launched officially on 7th September 2021 at VS Acharya Hall at DC Office Campus of Udupi District. The program was inaugurated and launched by Dr.Y.Naveen Bhat, CEO of ZP Udupi.
Assistant District Commissioner, DHO, DDWO, DD Women & Child, MRWs & VRWs, DNA Member Organizations, Member of Muncipality, staff of DDRC, Members of Rotary were present for the launch of the \xe2\x80\x98Arogya Sparsha\xe2\x80\x99.
